Pablo Picante Review: Dublins Best Burrito?

Our recent review of Boojum, another popular burrito chain found around the city, has been our best performing review over the last while, so today we’re shining a light one another of Dublin’s incredible offerings for heart burritos, Pablo Picante.

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly, mouthwatering burrito fix right in the heart of Dublin, then Pablo Picante is calling your name! With locations scattered conveniently around the city centre—including Dawson Street, Clarendon Market, and Baggot Street—this small burrito bar is a total gem for students and anyone craving a flavour-packed meal without breaking the bank.

We popped into their quaint Dawson Street location for lunch and took advantage of their amazing student deal—just €10.75 for a burrito and a drink. A steal, considering the portion size and the quality of what you’re getting! The deal lets you choose from four different burritos, and we decided to go all-in by trying two: the Sonny San Diego and the Beefy Barbacoa.

First up was the Sonny San Diego—a heavenly combination of roasted, marinated chicken, refried beans, fresh long-grain rice, grated cheese, and freshly-made salsa, all wrapped snugly in a warm flour tortilla. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy, while the salsa added a refreshing, zesty kick to every bite. The balance of flavours was spot on, with the creamy refried beans and gooey cheese rounding everything out beautifully.

Next, we tackled the Beefy Barbacoa, and let me tell you, it was love at first bite. The shredded beef was rich, tender, and packed with smoky, slow-cooked goodness. Paired with the same fresh rice, beans, cheese, and salsa as the Sonny San Diego, this burrito had a heartier, more indulgent vibe. Every bite felt like comfort food perfection—warm, filling, and bursting with bold, satisfying flavours.

Pablo Picante’s Dawson Street location

The vibe in the Dawson Street spot was casual and inviting—perfect for a quick lunch between lectures or a chill catch-up with friends. Service was lightning-fast, and the staff were super friendly, keeping things running smoothly even during the lunchtime rush. We loved the little touches that added personality to the place, like the quirky decor inspired by Luchador culture and the lively atmosphere.

With three central locations, Pablo Picante is a lifesaver for students darting between Trinity, Grafton Street, and beyond. It’s one of those spots where you can count on great food at a price that won’t leave your wallet weeping. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic chicken burrito, a beefy barbacoa feast, or something else entirely, you’ll find something to satisfy your cravings.

For us, it’s an easy 10/10. Pablo Picante nails the trifecta of flavour, value, and convenience, making it a must-visit for burrito lovers in Dublin. Highly recommend stopping by for their student deal—your taste buds and your budget will thank you! 🌯
